Why won’t Dean Blevins update his web site?

I stumbled across Dean Blevins’ web site over the weekend. His most recent column begins with this sentence:

With the expectation of an over-qualified editor from Wolverine Land lending his hand and time, you can look for more frequent writings and easier reading. Please continute checking in.

This was dated April 14th. I understand that Deano has had some health problems, but he’s been back at work for awhile now, so I was wondering why it’s been nearly two months since he updated his web site, despite his claims that his writings would be more frequent. The investigative reporters here at TheLostOgle.com did some digging into the matter, and it looks like I can give you a few theories as to the reason DeanBlevins.com has been dormant so long.

My sources indicate that there is a 60% chance that during a follow-up to this interview, Kevin Wilson lost his temper and broke every one of Deano’s fingers, rendering him unable to type. Furthermore, I’m told there is a 25% chance that between doing the nightly sportscast and the amount of time he spends on the golf course, there simply has not been an opportunity over the last two months to update his website. And finally, there is a 15% chance that Dean is looking for a new writer for DeanBlevins.com, a “Mystery Candidate,” if you will. Sources confirm that Rick Neuheisel is that mystery candidate.

Danny Williams is still alive

It comes as no surprise to hear that KOMA’s morning show was the #1 rated morning show in the Oklahoma City market during the last ratings period. After all, who doesn’t listen to KOMA’s morning show? And there is clearly one reason why so many people tune in: Danny Williams’ jokes. Many people worldwide consider Danny Williams the funniest joke teller in history. When you think of the all-time best comedians, you think of George Carlin, Bill Cosby, Sam Kinison, Richard Pryor, and Danny Williams. In case anyone thinks I’m using hyperbole in lauding his comedic genius, let me offer this bit of evidence: Sources close to the situation have informed me that Williams is the person responsible for the jokes on the wrappers of Laffy Taffy candy.

Jokin’ Danny Williams made his radio debut in 1947, and is still going strong 60 years later, at the age of 80. There are some who would claim that his time is past, and that he should retire and let new blood take over the airwaves. For instance, every year the Oklahoma Gazette offers it’s readers the opportunity to vote on the “Best of…” Oklahoma City. In 1987, the readers of the Gazette named Danny Williams the Best “Has Been Local Celebrity.” Just who do you think you are, 1987 Residents of Oklahoma City? Personally, I look forward to another 60 years of Danny Williams’ Knock-Knock Jokes, Puns, and Totally Awesome Wordplay.
