Was that joke a shot at Randy Renner?
No, this video is circa 1977 and Don Sherry, who is now an ONG spokesman, had done a series on gay activity in Will Rogers Park, which was euphemsitcally know in the newsroom by the nickname that Gan referred to in the video. It was done primarily so that the station could showcase it’s new “Nightscope” technology that allowed cameras to shoot grainy night time video with no light.
Little did we know at the time that Paris Hilton would make this same technology famous some 30 years later.

The Gan stuff is funny, but after watching that clip, an old clip of 5 Alive weatherman Fred Norman popped up and it is the most bizarre old OKC video I have ever seen, which is saying something since this web site usually finds great clips every week. I had forgotten the Ch. 5 tag team of Fred Norman and Jerry Parks. It was like watching Howard Cosell and Don Meridith every night. This clip of Fred MUST be preserved and used as training video for the OU meterology school.

The question is…..was Gan reporting from Norman in that shoot? Maybe back in those days he actually left Cleveland County.
