Sally Eastridge needs a raise…

We’ll it looks like NewsOK.com has taken things to the next level and hired a “weekend anchor.” Her name is Sally Eastridge. These are her Friday, Saturday and Sunday updates from Oklahoma’s website:

Sunday Update

Saturday Update

Friday Update

Hey, I know that the powers to be at NewsOK.com are still learning this whole video news thing, but when you hire or promote someone to a weekend anchor position, shouldn’t a standard interview question be:

Do you own more than one professional outfit?

I think it should. But then again, I also like checker boards, Red Baron pizza boxes and blondes, so I’m not complaining. Also, what’s up with that Christmas light Mardi Gras necklace thing? What did Sally do? Flash Dave Morris at Pearls on Fat Tuesday and get that thing in return? We demand an answer!

she could probably get away with wearing that first outfit more often..

I would assume that Sally did all the updates for the weekend on Friday, but that doesn’t make for a very informative “weekend anchor”.

Send her a Lost Ogle t-shirt. Or just have them hire the t-shirt model to do these updates. I assume she can read.

A closer look (here: http://newsok.com/home/audiencedevelopment) resulted in the discovery that Ms. Eastridge was promoted from her administrative assistant role . . .as we all know, they are essentially “free” laborers, which could explain the limited wardrobe option.

I think she should recreate that whole photo for the weekend updates right down to holding the wine glass. I mean, it is the weekend, it should be casual.

I couldn’t get through the videos. Honestly though, where do they find these people? Is it really THAT hard to find someone who can read and sound somewhat interesting? And why are they recording these in an aluminum shed?

Kinda funny- the interactive creative manager job at the bottom of the list is misspelled. Looks like somebody failed Copy Editing 101 sophomore year.

Wow - is that really the best they would pay for? They must be even cheaper than KFOR! Angi Bruss got fired from there - but compared to this young lady - she looks like Diane Sawyer.

I took a class with her at UCO in the fall of 2006. Ironically, it was On-Air Presentation and it was tought by Jennifer Eve.

Those videos of Sally now are an improvement…

High school journalism was fun. This is proof.

Here’s the obligatory “I’d tap that” so who cares what she’s wearing when she gets there?

She probably filmed them all at once; I remember when one of the TV stations used to have hourly updates through the night and claim they were each “newscasts.” The jig was up one night when they aired them out of order and we got a five-minute “newscast” from the future.

The Jokelahoman needs to stick with what what they have done poorly for the last 100 years. At least they have succeeded at doing something else even worse. Any company who would hire Dave Morris is inept to say the least.

Did you guys at the lost ogle take your hatorade this morning!? OH I mean every morning! Sally looks like a nice lady and all you guys ever do is hate on people. Get a life and stop all this hating! nuff said
