Another exciting week of Ogle Madness has finished, and the field of 64 65 has been whittled down to 16. There have been blowouts, there have been nailbiters, and there have been allegations of match-fixing. The games have been discussed at water coolers from Purcell to Guthrie and from Choctaw to Yukon.

After this sweet video from the defunct OKC band The Black Tie Event (now mostly reincarnated as Beyond the Infrared), we’ll recap the week’s action and preview the Sweet 16.

East Region

The chalk has mostly held in the East region, led by heavy favorite Gary England easily dispactching of Kevin Ogle by a score of 79%-21%. However, he’ll face his toughest battle yet when he goes up against the in-form Sunni Kate Golloway, who annhilated a clearly distracted Berry Tramel.

The other winners in the East were Chuck Norris, who had a tough time with Tall Paul, and Sam Bradford, who handily dispatched of a less-than-100% Jim Traber.

Midwest Region

An extremely strong region. Ogle favorites Rick and Brad were no match for Amy McRee and her pink bikini, who were more than tripled up during Tuesday’s game. A dream matchup awaits us in the Sweet 16 as Maggie Carlo had not problem defeating the Scrotal Assassin.

On the other half of the bracket, we look forward to a game that could cause some uncomfortable conversations in the mayor’s office as Mayor Mick will face porn star extraordinaire Ashlynn Brooke. Cornett beat BBJ in a matchup of former and current sportscasters, while Brooke had no problem with Tyler Suiters’ left man-boob.

South Region

The only Lost Ogle to make it to the 2nd round was defeated by this site’s namesake, Kelly Ogle, in a relatively close 60%-40% victory over Patrick. He will go on to face Brent Skarky, who won a scandal-filled matchup against Toby Rowland. Rumors of a young video editor at OklaTravelNet attempting to rig the vote were difficult to prove, and Skarky advances to face Kelly Ogle.

The other matchup sees Moore graduate Jesse Jane face Lauren Richardson, in a game we’d like to see get as dirty as possible. Jane beat Aubrey McClendon, and Richardson took care of the Morning Animals 75%-25%.

West Region

The only 1 seed to be defeated was Governor Brad Henry, as Jaime Ceretta lunged her way to victory by a margin of 30 votes. This sets up another strong Sweet 16 match, as Jessica Shambach took care of Channel 5 colleague Mark Rodgers with no problem. On the other half, Mike Gundy said his loss to Wayne Coyne was “garbage,” while Linda Cavanaugh was no challenge to OU coach Bob Stoops
