In case you didn’t know, the world is way too small.  Here’s an example:

• I decided to post Boyz II Men “Motown Philly” as this morning’s video

• While watching the video, I notice a 2-3 second clip of some band called “Sudden Impact.”

• Amused, I decide to include something about Sudden Impact in my post regarding the video.  I do some googling to see what I can find out about the band.

• The second entry I stumble upon is from The DiaTribe, a Cleveland Indian’s fan blog.  In the post, he compares Oklahoma City native Brian Tallett to Sudden Impact:

Tallett – Sudden Impact – Never really able to find a home in the rotation or the bullpen and plagued by injuries, Tallett eventually became a 28 year old pitcher without a track record or a specialty. Hopefully, he’ll catch on as a LOOGY somewhere, or he’ll fade into oblivion.

• Although I didn’t really know him, I went to high school with and graduated in the same class as Brian Tallet. Weird.

• Where things get weirder is that the Diatribe also compares major league pitcher Billy Traber to Another Bad Creation.  I think there have only been two major league baseball players named Traber.  I wonder who the other one is???

• To oddly tie all this together, a regular caller to Jim Traber’s show is a guy named John Tallett.  Who is John’s son?  Brian Tallett, of course.

Anyway, I’m not sure what all that means, but I now officially freaked out.  Thanks, Internet.  I’m going to go hide in my closet now.

  1. Brian Tallett struck me out every time I faced him in high school. Then again, that could probably be said of any half decent pitcher I went up against.

Nice. A dude comparing Indian pitchers to East Coast Family members. I assume Cliff Lee was their BBD last season. Anyway, this song still makes me want to break out in some sort of jacked up ridiculously looking white boy dance. Word to ya mutha.
