So. How is everybody? That’s good. Not much has happened this week, so this will likely be a short episode. I’m pretty boring. I got to see my Penguins force a Game 7, about which I’m very nervous, and that was nice. I got to do a post on Wednesday that nobody (including me) read. I made some killer spaghetti one night. Then on Thursday, I came home to find that someone had broken into the house and written “You’re the next one!” on my living room wall, apparently in his own shit. I decided not to call the cops or even look in the closets, so there’s no telling if the madman is still in the house. It’s ok. As soon as this post posts, I’m off to bed to face my destiny. I’ll either wake up dead, or I’ll wake up twenty minutes late, as usual. Wish me luck!

Museum of Creation Truth – Saturdays 10a-4p

Did I make it up or not? Could it be? It could and it can and it is, folks. It’s about time someone created a museum like this. First of all, we should discuss that picture. Yes, I found it online, and yes I think it’s probably a perfect representation of this actual museum. Right down to the damn rainbow. And what appears to be some old-timey Russian submarine. Maybe? I’ll  have to look that one up.  The fact that the town it’s in actually does sound a little made up doesn’t help this thing, either. Now I’m a pretty open-minded guy, and I’m perfectly fine with people having ridiculous opinions and out-dated beliefs, but I won’t be making the trek to Bokchito. It may not even be that far, but you’re still somehow so far away that you may as well be going back in time. Like, back to the time before Man discovered science in that crater.

deadCENTER Film Festival – June 11-14

Yeah, I mentioned it already. Not so much mentioned it as did a full-on day-of post about it. But that doesn’t mean you went yet. So I won’t blather on about how good a festival this is or how crazy you’d be to miss it all. Just go see for yourself. I’ll be there. And I’ll probably be following noisily behind you.

14th Annual Bricktown Blues & BBQ Festival – June 13-14

The blues part is tough. I like the blues, personally. Pictured above is one of my most-favoritist blues guys, Junior Kimbrough. He sure had the blues, I tell you. After fathering about a hundred children with a million different wives, he was broke and old as shit and not selling records. Then he died and The Black Keys did an EP of his songs–and did them just about perfectly–so idiots like me would find them, and he got just a little bit more famous. That’s the blues. The barbecue part is easier than a slice of pie. Eat barbecue while you’re there. The entire time. It’ll be worth it.

Red City Radio CD Release Show w/Jabee – June 13

I was kind enough to take a request or two for today’s events, and I went with Patrick’s request because he is not messing around with that shotgun. He’d do it in a heartbeat. So, I didn’t really go listen to Red City Radio like I said I would before writing this, but I know one thing: Jabee’s record, Blood is the New Black, hasn’t left my cd changer in weeks. That kid is bona fide. I wonder if he needs any beats. Anyway, Jabee’s presence is reason enough to get me there.  As for the rest of the music, I’ll go ahead and give it Patrick’s stamp of approval (not mine, yet) since I guess he knows one of the dudes or something. Go hit up the Conservatory. Your ears will hate you for it.

  1. Patrick says:

What are you doing tonight? Going to Deadcenter or watching a dead sport?

  2. Terry Hesticles says:

I was just at Conservatory seeing the Anal Blast show. First time I’ve been there in a couple of years.

  3. BallDontLie says:

Damn, Patrick that’s harsh. Wings bring home their 12th Cup tonight.

  4. Google Maps says Bokchito is three hours from my house. That’s a shame because I wanted to watch the documentaries that claim dinosaurs and man co-existed.

  5. OKCMoneyGuy says:

Clark, why travel to see a documentary about it when you can just turn on “The Cougar” and watch it weekly?

  6. Joey says:

I didn’t think anyone else knew who Red City Radio was. I remember them sounding a lot like Rise Against.

How do you know the poop writer isn’t a lady, and that’s just her fetish?

  7. mikiepocd says:

According to wimgo, the museum is “loaded with little known information.” There’s something inherently wrong with that sentence, but I can’t put my finger on it…

  8. MartzMimic says:

Been to Bokchito more times that I can count, and I never knew the Creation Museum was there. They do have a farm and ranch convenience store on the west side of town that has one of the fake cappucino machines that makes them syrupy (is that a word?) sweet.

If you’re there, do yourself a favor and go on a day that the dulcimer factory is open in Bennington, which is just a few more miles to the east. And neither town is so far southeast that you need a gun or a knife when you go.

I love science. The Old Testament is my favorite.
