Certainly the arrival of The God of Thunder himself had to be at least as momentous as anything REM could dream up. We had to go back to the 1980s for Gary’s birthday video, to another great born on October 3 — Stevie Ray Vaughn playing “The Sky is Crying,” live in concert in 1987.
