That Oklahoma Mountain Lion had some rare company…

12:11 AM EST on January 7, 2010

Earlier this week, colossally huge news broke that Cougars/Mountain Lions live in Oklahoma.  From NewsOK:

Ryan Ritter of Atoka couldn't believe what he was seeing on New Year's Day when he looked at the photos from his new trail camera.

Not only were there pictures of numerous deer and turkey, but the trail camera also had captured five photos of a mountain lion on two consecutive mornings.

"I was very shocked to see that on my camera," said Ritter, who admits he always has been skeptical about mountain lion sightings in the past...

The mountain lion photographs were taken between 5 and 6 a.m. on Dec. 22 and 23. State wildlife officials say it's one of the rare instances of a confirmed sighting of a mountain lion in Oklahoma.

"We know we've got them, but we don't know where they are at or how many," said Alan Peoples, chief of the wildlife division for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. "It's kind of hard to monitor something so secretive and so rare as a mountain lion."

Yeah, I guess that's pretty cool, but what NewsOK.com failed to mention is that Ritter's trail camera also captured photos of other strange creatures in the Oklahoma night.  These were sightings you wouldn't expect to see in Oklahoma.  The first one is below, the rest are after the jump:

Pandas!!!

Just like many of you, I've heard rumors that cute, cuddly baby Pandas live in Southeastern Oklahoma, but I always figured it was just a silly hoax started by Van Shea Iven.  Who knew it was real!  I bet Rusty Surette and Scott Hines are racing to Atoka right now to verify that this is true.

Larry the Leprechaun

One time in college, I saw a Leprechaun.  His name was Larry and he was taunting me just like he's taunting the Mountain Lion in the picture.  The only difference is that I ate a big bag of mushrooms and drank something that Chad called "Absinthe."  That was a fun night.

Unicorns!

Clark Matthews once told me that Unicorns existed and are divine equine beings that can communicate via telepathy.  He said that was the main reason why he had some many Unicorn posters in his bedroom.  Maybe now that we have proof that Unicorns exist, he'll take those posters down.  If he does, my next job will be to get him to stop eating lunch every day at Grandys.

Tall Paul!

Yeah, my jaw hit the floor when I saw this picture.  Who would have thought that Tall Paul was real, and that he still drove a stagecoach and enjoyed campfires!  Hopefully he's okay and the Mountain Lion didn't hurt him.  At least we know that if anything did happen, he probably has good life insurance!
