Saturday Morning 1990′s Music Video (139)

If I were writing a list of the best albums of the 1990s, there’s a good chance that Weezer’s “Blue Album” would come near the top.  This was an album that literally everyone liked. And it wasn’t one of the thousands of CDs released in the 1990s that only had one or two good songs, literally every song was awesome.  Like this one and this one and this one. Hell, I bet Sally Kern even loves the Blue Album.

Anyway, the video for Buddy Holly is one of the classic music videos of the 1990s.  It was directed by Spike Jonze, who ironically enough popped his music video director cherry with this Chainsaw Kitten’s song.  When the Buddy Holly video would be played on MTV, you literally had to stop doing whatever you were doing and watch it.  Unless you were talking to a couple of girls on three-way calling.  That took precedent over everything.

  1. This video/song cracks me up, because it was one of the two songs included with media player on Windows 95 when it released.
