Friday Mailbag: Throwing a bone for the ladies of Red Lobster

12:00 PM EST on February 17, 2012

New Feature Alert! New Feature Alert!

We get a lot of emails, tips, wild stories, gossip, and funny links sent to us each week. Unfortunately, we don't have the time to write about them all...until now.

Welcome to the Friday Mailbag, where each Friday we'll publish some of the best emails that are sent to the Ogle In-Box each week. Is this a rip-off of something that a lot of other websites do? Hell, yes! Do we care? Hell, no!

To make our mailbag better than those other sites, we're going to give away a prize! Whoever sends us the best email each week will win a $25 gift certificate to a local restaurant. This week's eatery is Kaisers Bistro. You've probably heard about Kaisers. Located in the heart of Midtown next to that cool roundabout, they are well-known for great burgers, sandwiches and delicious homemade ice cream. Nick Collison even tweeted that Kaisers is his one of his favorite local restaurants! That's a cool endorsement.

Anyway, we'll determine the winning email via a reader poll at the end of the post. So read the emails and vote after the jump!

I was on this website called the chive and I came across this picture of KOCO 5 and I immediatly thought of you guys.

I hope you share it with the rest of the state.

What's funny about that is that we've all probably been sentenced to Red Lobster a time or two. It usually happens to me when I go to dinner with my grandparents. But even then I take it like a man, eat my butter biscuits and Admiral's Feast, and then move along with my evening. I guess that's one benefit of going to dinner with elderly. You're usually done by 5:00pm.

Hello!

I wanted to share our February press release and bout poster with you guys! We are hoping to make it into your Friday Night in the big Town post sometime! If you haven't been to one of our home bouts, or have and would like to come again, let me know and maybe I can throw a couple of tickets your way! If you have any questions or would like more information about us or our bouts, feel free to contact me anytime!

Yeah, I don't want to make this column an outlet for annoying PR emails, but then again, most annoying PR emails don't come from a chick named Holly Berrycuda who likes to get rough with other girls!

With that out of the way, Marisa wasn't able to write about it so here are the details:

Oklahoma City Roller Derby
Saturday Night at Farmer's Market
For more info go to okcrd.com

So there you go Ms. Berrycuda! We wrote about the Roller Derby event. Now go knock out (or make out with) a girl for me! And send us photos, too.

Dear Seattle,

Too little, too late.

PS-We'll be back for your space needle next week.

I'm glad we have the Thunder, but I don't really get all the animosity people in Oklahoma City seem to have for the folks in Seattle. Sure, it's annoying to see that small band of Save Our Sonics nuts waving their flags at every Portland game, but I feel sorry for the Sonics fans. Can you imagine how much it would suck if the Thunder played here for 40 years and then were whisked away to Birmingham, Alabama? Hell, every time the team played in Dallas I'd probably drive down I-35 and wave a flag behind the bench, too.

How about some half naked Facebook pics of the hot new Chris McKinnon and Chuck Fisher from News 9! Show some love for your lady readers - there's only so many articles of your channel 4 girlfriends we can read!

Yeah, we don't really post or publish half-naked photos of dudes because we are all heterosexuals. And even though Chelsea and Marisa are females, I told them that if they want to post hunky photos of a man, that man has to be Clark Matthews. I'm not sure if there are any hunky pictures of Clark Mathews.

There's another reason we don't post photos of hunky men.  They are just not that popular. When you post a photo of an attractive anchorwoman, you get 100% readership. Guys click the post to look at photos of a hot chick. Girls click on the post to judge and criticize photos of a hot chick.

When you post a pic of some hunky dudes, 90% of guys turn their heads while closing their browser, while half of all woman just yawn and move on. I'm not good at math, but that basically means only 10 people a week would read those posts. Chad's old columns got more views than that.

So I'm watching Channel 4 the other day, and I'm pretty sure Emily Sutton got a boob job. Not to be weird or anything, but do you all know anything about this?

Okay, that sounded weird, but I'd still like to know.

No, what's weird is that we've received about a dozen emails and tweets on that same subject over the past month or two! Actually, that's not weird...that's just creepy.

Anyway, I have no clue if Emily Sutton went out and got breast implants. Hell, I feel dirty even writing that. I need to go take a bath.

OK, it's time to vote for your favorite email. Voting is open until the 23rd, and the person who sent the winning email will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to Kaiser's Bistro. And if you have any emails you'd like to send to us, our email address is TheLostOgle at Gmail dot com.
