This video is a good representation of the 96,759 Oklahomans who voted for Rick Santorum

Have you ever wondered what would happen if two chaste coeds from a large family of missionaries in Tulsa wrote a Lilith Fair-inspired folk song about Rick Santorum? I thought so. The answer is this inspirational song and music video by the Harris sisters:

You know, that’s really not too bad of a song. I think they hit all the cliché Republican talking points pretty well. They even added some new ones like that line about “God creating the Bill of Rights.” Because you know, God’s always been against the quartering of soldiers.

If anything, I’m disappointed by some of the Santorum tidbits the sisters left out of the tune. We know Rick’s going to protect the constitution and the rights of the unborn and all that other stuff, but why didn’t they sing a verse about the time he and his wife took their stillborn child home to cuddle with their kids and pose for some family pictures? Or maybe something about how he doesn’t want everyone to be snobby and go to college? That would have made the song better.

Anyway, if you want to learn more about the naïve sisters, including fun facts like how they’ve never had cable, attended public schools, and like bananas, visit their website.
