Towards the end of December, we are probably going to list some of the top Oklahoma news stories of 2007. Since we are a little bit weird, I bet some of the things on our list will be different. You know, things like Gary England’s birthday or my divorce or the Varsity on Western shutting down.
Anyway, if you can think of something that should possibly make our year end list, send it to us at TheLostOgle at gmail.com. We want to make sure nothing (like Jennifer Pierce) is overlooked. If one of your items makes it, we’ll name you an honorary Ogle and add you to our MySpace friends list.

For some reason, I couldn’t find any good picture for our “Hottest Women in the OKC Media” power poll, so I figured this picture of Gan Matthews would suffice. I figured this because Gan Matthews may possibly make our “10 Hottest Men in the OKC Media” power poll that comes out next week. Yeah…we’re actually going to do that.
Anyway, back to what we really care about, and that’s the girls. First, we’ll recap 20-11. The final 10 will show up after the jump. Enjoy.
20. Amanda Taylor
19. Kimberly Lohman
18. Bobbie Miller
17. Constance Jones
16. Ali Meyer
15. Courtney Coates
14. Tierney Cook
13. Audra Taylor
12. Kealey McIntire
11. Kate Godwin

It’s been about a month since we’ve last had a good power poll. Since that’s quite a layoff, we figured we needed to write one that people would really enjoy. And we think we found it with our “20 Hottest Women in the Oklahoma City Media” rankings.
Here is how the poll worked. The three of us ranked our own top 10 hottest girls. We then got some Top 10 lists from some friends. After that, we then put all the rankings in a spreadsheet and had Clark Matthews run some exotic formulas to determine the Top 20. Pretty fun, huh?
On that note, we would like to thank the people who helped us compile this list. They were:
• a local politicians son
• Patrick’s perverted roommate who knows Running Girl
• a girl who works at MidFirst Bank
• a PR professional from a big university
• a PR professional from a local business in downtown
• a local religious weatherman (this may be a joke)
And a little FYI: three of our helpers were female. Yes. The Lost Ogle’s have chicks telling us who they think are the hot chicks in the news media. Yes. We are slowly on our way to becoming the Hinder of the Oklahoma City web scene.
Anyway, if you got this far, go ahead and do yourself a favor and check out the first half of Top 20 Hottest Women in the OKC News Media after the jump. You deserve it.

So yesterday we were sitting in the Lost Ogle’s luxurious headquarters discussing what the best nicknames are among Oklahoma high schools. Not knowing all of them, we asked one of our interns to do the research. Unfortunately, it turns out we don’t actually have interns, and the guy we asked to do the research was in fact the pizza delivery guy. Oops! No wonder he had such a strange look on his face when bringing Patrick the coffee from the kitchen that he had requested.
So we had to do the research ourselves. It was hours of painstaking, grueling work, but we powered through. And we can tell you this: if we never see another school nicknamed “Bulldogs” or “Tiger,” it will be too soon. There are actually 44 schools in the state named “Tigers” (45 if you count the Talihina Golden Tigers) and 36 schools in the state named “Bulldogs,” (first of which alphabetically is Altus, last of which alphabetically is Yale).
Seriously, where is the originality? We wanted to reward originality and general awesomeness in mascot-picking, so the three of us and two Friends Of The Lost Ogle submitted our Top 10 picks and tallied the results. Here they are; the Top 10 Best Oklahoma High School Nicknames:
10. The Cascia Hall Commandos
Somehow we doubt that the school named their athletic teams after the practice of not wearing any underwear, but we’re going to pretend that they did. It just makes the world seem like a little bit better place.

I’m not positive this commercial still runs, otherwise it would be much higher in the poll. It features the most annoying pitch person since Linda Soundtrack and her sassy new sidekick. The thing about the new sidekick is that her acting style is very much like one of those old animatronic creatures that Showbiz Pizza used to feature. When she’s actively speaking a line: sassy! (She sells it with the head movements.) When she’s waiting for her turn to speak again: perfectly still, as if her power source has been cut off.
