Ogle Madness Elite 8: West Regional Final

12:29 AM EDT on April 10, 2008

Yesterday we wondered why Ron Terrell wasn't e-mailed the letter Brent Skarky sent to all of his friends and colleagues asking for votes. As it turns out, he was. Yesterday Ron left us this gracious message on our MySpace page:

Actually, Brent did send me that e-mail... and I would just like to say...

~clearing throat and playing both sides of the fence~

"I would like to wish both Brent and Lauren health and happiness. Each has their own strengths in battle, and each is a MySpace friend. As are those the winner would face in the next round. To Wayne and Jessica, I also wish you the best in competition...and in life."

OK, OK, perhaps not the most bold of gestures, but it was a nice tribute to worthy competitors and just the sort of friendly competitive spirit we here at the Lost Ogle are striving to nurture. We also like pizza. And mixed martial arts. OK, maybe not the mixed martial arts thing. Unless that makes us sound cooler. Does that make us sound cooler? Or just like we are trying too hard? It used to be so much easier to fake hipness. What's that? Stop saying "hipness?"

Anyway, today is the final day of the Ogle Madness Elite 8. The game is from the unpredictable West Region and is being played at H. H. Champlin Mansion in Enid. The matchup is:

(4) Jessica Schambach vs. (3) Wayne Coyne

Please vote after the jump...

About Jessica Schambach:

scham_simms.jpg

Conference: Hot TV Chicks

Who she is: 5pm and 10pm anchor for Channel 5

Biggest Strength: The ability to improve.

Biggest Weakness: Jessica is married. She is also a native Texan.

Fun Fact: Jessica volunteers at the Northside YMCA, raising money for the Strong Kids Campaign. She also enjoys taking boot camp, body sculpting and cycling classes there, too. To get a membership at the Northside YMCA, do what my perverted roommate just did and register online.

About Wayne Coyne:

Conference: Amazing Oklahoma Musicians

Who he is: Lead singer of the Flaming Lips

Biggest Strength: Writing odd-ball tunes about the beauty of life, death and robot Jesus statues playing checkers on Mars.

Biggest Weakness: Has appeared in the Justice League of Oklahoma, Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed. Two of those were voluntary.

Fun Fact: The Flaming Lips' album Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots is being transformed into a Broadway play written by Aaron Sorkin.
