Measles case rocks Norman Chuck E. Cheese…

We have some bad news if you live in Norman and your mom's name is Jenny McCarthy.

Earlier this week, the Department of Health announced the first confirmed case of measles in Oklahoma for 2018. They're warning people who visited the following places last week:

    • Norman Pediatrics, located at 808 Wall Street in Norman, on Friday, Feb. 2 from 9:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 6 from 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    • Chuck E. Cheese’s, located at 2201 Interstate Dr. in Norman, on Saturday, Feb. 3 from 12:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    • Norman Regional HealthPlex, located at 3300 HealthPlex Parkway in Norman, on Tuesday, Feb. 6 from 12:25 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Officials say the patient was in the outpatient registration, emergency room waiting area and laboratory collection services.

The threat of a measles outbreak in Norman may sound scary, but there's not a lot to worry about if you or your kids received the measles vaccine. It's like 95% effective. If you didn't get the vaccine, well, it must suck to have either wacko or irresponsible parents.

This is also bad news for the owner and employees of the Norman Chuck E. Cheese. Not only will they have to disinfect the entire ball pit, but they'll also have to change the lyrics of their birthday song. Now, I assume, it will go like this...

"Hey everybody! It's time for the Chuck E. Cheese Birthday song! Sing it with me – I say "Uh oh." You say "Measles."

"Uh oh."

"Measles!"

"Uh oh!"

"Measles."

"Now wash those hands..."

"Wash, Wash, Wash!"

"And scrub those feet..."

"Scrub! Scrub! Scrub!"
