OK GOP Committeewoman attacks “Progressive Christians”

11:15 AM EDT on October 22, 2018

The woman who's dressed up like a Chesapeake Arena usher is Carolyn McLarty. She's a national committeewoman for the Oklahoma GOP, devout Trumponian and was the third place finisher in a 2017 special election Republican primary to replace Bryce Marlatt – the Christian State Senator who had too many of what you would call a bourbon and Coke, and assaulted an Uber driver.

On Friday afternoon, the State GOP emailed a column by Dr. Carolyn – she deceptively uses the title "Dr." despite only being a veterinarian – to everyone on its email list. It's a great read, especially if you want a terrifying look inside the logic-defying brains of the people who run the State GOP, or enjoy the ramblings of right-wing evangelical nutjobs who attempt to discredit other faiths based on political ideology, while being totally oblivious to their own hypocrisy-drenched lunacy.

Check out this madness. Once again, remember that it was emailed to everyone on the Oklahoma GOP's email list.

Beware: Wolves in Sheeps’ clothing are coming to Oklahoma City!

There is an anti-Trump “Evangelical Christian” group called “Vote Common Good” touring the country. Sound delightful, right? Wrong!

They are a Progressive Christian troupe that promotes a socialist agenda. They would like nothing less than to flip Congress away from Republican control, yet they say they are non-partisan.

Yep, watch out everyone. The Progressive Christians are coming! And get this, they subscribe to a partisan political ideology. Hard to believe, huh? Thank Baby Jesus that churches and religious leaders in Oklahoma – like James Lankford, Sally Kern or the House Chaplain – don't mix partisan politics with religion like those evil "Progressive Christians." The last thing we want is for Oklahoma politicians to have political views that are more closely aligned with the teachings of the Christ.

The “common good” is an idea right out of the Marxist Communist Manifesto. Socialism and communism have never worked. A market economy with private property, individual liberty, personal responsibility, respect for the dignity of life for every person, and the rule of Law does work.

Yep, the "common good" is straight out of the Marxist Communist Manifesto... which I guess is why Comrade Donald Trump said this during his 2017 joint address to congress:

True love for our people requires us to find common ground, to advance the common good, and to cooperate on behalf of every American child who deserves a much brighter future.

Well, it's official. Trump is advocating that we advance the Marxist Communist Manifesto! I guess Dr. Carolyn is going to have to retract her endorsement of his presidential campaign.

Here's more from Dr. Carolyn's article:

We have witnessed the mob rule antics of the Democrat left in Washington, D.C. recently. They are desperate to gain control of their “progressive” agenda. They are well funded, and are doing everything imaginable to grab power - even use “Christianity” as a cover.

What is a Progressive Christian? A Progressive Christian is not a Christian at all!

Progressive Christianity is another liberal theology. It is a feel good, do good, humanistic attempt to co-opt the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ...

Okay, so basically "Progressive Christianity" is a lot like Evangelical christianity. They are well-funded, do everything imaginable to grab power and even use “Christianity” as a cover for political views. I guess the only difference is that Progressive Christians are nicer and less judgmental:

The second of their eight points of doctrine is proof. They “Affirm that the teachings of Jesus provide but one of many ways to experience the Sacredness and Oneness of life, and that we can draw from diverse sources of wisdom in our spiritual journey;” (1)

Don’t be deceived by this misleading statement and movement. There is only one way to God, and that is through the finished work of Jesus Christ. His sacrifice for our sin was sufficient for all human beings. The Bible is very clear on this truth, and it points us to Jesus in every Book of the Old and New Testaments. With all the differences in various beliefs of Christian denominations, this truth is THE core of the Gospel. Individuals believe and receive Jesus as a gift of faith; or not.

I don't know about you, but after reading this I think the only "way to God" is by joining the Oklahoma Republican party.

Beware false prophets, even in a big red bus!

The Republican Party stands for many truly Biblical values. We believe in the principles upon which this country was founded - love of God, country, and family.

Beware false prophets even in the big red bus? Sorry lady. I think I'll fear the actual Big Red Bus.

Anyway, knowing that the Republican Party stands for many truly Biblical values – and knowing that Trump is repeating Marxist Communist Manifesto talking points – obviously Dr. Carolyn retracted her endorsement of his presidency, and has called for a full investigation into his business background and affairs.

President Trump is keeping his promises: the economy is booming; the unemployment rate is a stunningly low; there are millions of new jobs; wage growth is up; tax cuts passed; religious freedoms are upheld;

Jerusalem is the site of our Israel Embassy; ISIS is nearly extinct; North Korea is working toward denuclearization; we are respected around the world; and we have two new conservative Justices on the Supreme Court! Not bad for just two years!

President Trump needs our support and he needs to keep the support of the Congress - the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives - to continue improving our country!

I’ll continue to vote for individual excellence; not a “common good.”

I checked the online thesaurus for antonyms of "excellence." She probably should have used one of these words instead:

• Failure
• Imperfection
• Inferiority

If you're bored or have a few seconds, I'd suggest you check out the Progressive Christianity website. I think all forms of organized religion are kind of silly, and trying to intertwine today's laws with 2,000 old views is dumb, but it is kind of weird to read the views of Christians who have a compassionate and positive worldview that more closely mirrors the teachings of their savior. It's no wonder that evangelical lunatics like Dr. Carolyn who use Christianity as a front for their regressive and authoritarian political views fear them.
