Since I added “fatherhood” to my job duties back in May, it’s become a bit more challenging to find the time to manage both the day-to-day operation of this obscure local social blog, and staff and produce our weekly schedule of TLO Bingo and Trivia Nights, and other special events.
As a result, we’re looking for a Bar Events / Promotions Manager to help run and grow the events and promotions side of our business. Currently, it’s a very contracted, part-time position, but with more venues and events being added to the fold in 2019, there’s definitely some growth opportunity.
Here’s the basic job description and other details.
Assist in the production, management and promotion of The Lost Ogle’s weekly bar and promotional events, including the set up, hosting and promotion of TLO Trivia and Bingo nights, and other special events and projects, throughout the metro.
Pay / Schedule
$20 per hour (Contracted position); 10 – 15 hours per week (primarily weeknights).
Performance / Public Speaking experience is preferred (e.g., DJ-ing, comedy, theatre, etc.) but not required. Basically, you need to be comfortable speaking to large groups and interacting with people. In addition to reliability and timeliness—which are critical to hosting and managing successful events—the ideal candidate must be sharp, outgoing and able lift heavy equipment over 25 pounds. Notebook computer and social media proficiency required.
Overall, this is a fun but important gig that could be a perfect fit for someone who is responsible, enjoys interacting with the public and aspires to work in entertainment, communications or media.
