Weekend Radar

Your most trusted-trusted source for all-things Oklahoma City is back with its weekly feature, TLO Weekend Radar, highlighting a few of the most promising happenings in the metro.

This weekend is all about grass. We have soccer pitches, Easter eggs on the lawn and, of course, 4/20. So, there’s a little something for everyone.

OKC Energy FC vs Orange County SC
April 20 | 7:30 p.m.
Taft Stadium

OKC Energy returns to their home turf this Easter weekend, and they are taking on California-based team Orange County SC. You’re going to be wearing green anyway — might as well make it a two-for-one wardrobe choice and support our local soccer club. Head over to Taft Stadium this Saturday, and cheer on your OKC Energy as they turn those California dreams into orange-flavored nightmares.

Chronic Palooza
April 20 | 12 – 10 p.m.
State Fair Park

It’s our first legal 4/20, and there’s no better way to celebrate than a State Fair Park building full of OKCs finest dispensaries, growers and marijuana educators. Littles are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an 18+ adult. Folks will be onsite to help you get your Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Card at a discount as well. A full-on music festival will be raging into the evening hours. It’s a one-stop-shop to celebrate a holiday that definitely no one has never, ever celebrated in Oklahoma before.

Funny Bunny Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs
April 20 | 2 – 3 p.m.
Myriad Botanical Gardens

For all the Dog Moms and Dads, you and your pup can join in on the Easter fun on The Devon Lawn for a dog-centric egg hunt. There are separate hunts for big dogs and little dogs, so every hound will get their pound of Easter treats. The egg your furry friend touches with their nose goes into your basket. There are people and puppy treats, of course. If you don’t have a dog, you at least know a time and place to go see all the doggies!

Special Mention: About a billion egg hunts all across the city.

OKC is well known for having a church or three on every corner. Chances are pretty great they are all having some free-to-the-public opportunity to get out of having to buy Easter candy for yourself and/or your small humans. Also, something about Jesus.
