Join Oklahoma’s Native Tribes in celebrating their wide and diverse history as a people and as Oklahomans. From the fantastic and dramatic regalia to the energetic and symbolic dances, there’s never a dull moment. The arts market lets you explore traditional and modern interpretations of Native American arts and crafts. If you’ve never been to Red Earth Festival, it is worth a stop. Whether you’re born and bred here or a more recent transplant, the festival is a fascinating reminder and/or glimpse into part of what has made Oklahoma so culturally unique.

2019 deadCenter Film Festival

We jump from the tradition and history of Oklahoma’s native peoples to the modern and experimental nature of her artistic community. We’ve come back around to one of the most anticipated OKC events, the deadCenter Film Festival, with everything from VR films to documentaries. Fantastic talent in acting, directing, screenwriting and filmmaking coalesces into a weekend of endless entertainment. Whether you are familiar with the indie film community or not, this is a perfect way to spend the weekend watching movies, this time not in your pajamas.

If you combine the most colorful aspects of the events above, the love of film, and an appreciation for complex costuming, you pretty much have SoonerCon. Held in Norman this year, it’s the best the geekdom of OKC has to offer. Check it out. Resistance is futile!
