Weekend Radar

Thank Christ, it’s finally Friday. I swear this week has been longer than the list of negative comments following each of my articles

Here’s some stuff to spend your hard-earned dosh on this weekend.

Cocktail Cruise
July 12th, 13th | 6:30 & 8:30 p.m. departure times
Regatta Landing

Let’s get nautical! Grab your Sperries and Costas and shimmy on down to the Regatta Landing. A twenty-spot is your admission to the flashiest booze cruise in town. Their ad states you can enjoy “a cocktail and the evening skyline.” Hmm.. A cocktail? Singular? Not a chance.

Things come in threes, and I expect my cocktails to do the same. Come get sloshed in the surf with me on the most affordable cruise within a thousand miles. This sounds like a great way to get a different perspective of the beautiful city we call home.

LIVE! on the Plaza: SKATE on the Plaza

Live! On the Plaza (SKATE on the Plaza)
July 12th | 6 – 10 p.m.
Plaza District

Calling all cars, we’ve got a new event. ‘Cause Live! On the Plaza has a new addition. Let your freak flag fly at the hippest alt sport sitch since Mat Hoffman opened a park (P.S., that man is a fucking legend). SKATE on the Plaza has a hell of a lot to do, if you’re down.

Punk bands, skateboarding lessons, and a skater fashion show are just a few of the activities gracing the Plaza this weekend. Your favorite Oklahoma resident, Beer, will also be appearing here, so don’t forget your chain-wallet at home.

Hot Topic may have been run out-of-town, but they can’t kill an idea, man. Come shred it up Friday night. After all, you don’t have anything better to do.

Looking for a more chill vibe?

We’ve got you covered.

June 12th | 8 p.m.
Tower Theater

Broncho is coming to town, and it should be one hell of a show. Lucas told you about it earlier this month. I’m definitely biased on this one, as I love wannabe indie rock bands. All memes aside, their music kicks ass.

I haven’t been to a bad show at Tower Theater yet (not counting that one time Thundercat showed up over an hour late), so I expect this to be a banger.

Haven’t heard of them? Check out their most mainstream song, Class Historian, and if you dig that there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy their concert. Colourmusic and DEERPEOPLE will be opening the evening and should be a solid start to what promises to be another delightful gathering of mid 20s hipsters trying to feel something inside.

I hope y’all find one of these events worth your time. Have an exceptional weekend, Okies!
