OKC News Anchor Tammy Payne Files Lawsuit Against Ackerman McQueen Heir

11:10 AM EDT on July 22, 2020

The hits keep coming for Ackerman McQueen.

Over the weekend, The Oklahoman reported that longtime Oklahoma City news anchor Tammy Payne – a recognizable face to anyone who's watched OKC TV news dating back to the 1990s – is suing Ackerman McQueen CEO Revan McQueen – the guy overseeing the fall of his family's advertising empire – in Oklahoma District Court.

In the lawsuit, Tammy claims that Revan caused "severe and extreme emotional trauma and fear for her safety," all because she started seeing his dad not too long after his mom passed away in 2013.

Here are some details via The Oklahoman:

A former employee at advertising agency Ackerman McQueen is accusing the CEO of hostile and abusive behavior toward her because of her romantic relationship with his widowed father.

Tammy Payne sued Revan McQueen on July 10 in Oklahoma County District Court for actual and punitive damages.

She alleges in the lawsuit that she had no choice but to leave her dying boyfriend's side on July 15, 2019, because of two threatening encounters with Revan that left her terrified...

Payne, 59, worked as a television reporter and anchor in Oklahoma for years before joining Ackerman McQueen in 2015. She was fired last August.

On the surface, this looks likes the typical case of a spoiled trust-fund kid not approving of his ailing father's new girlfriend, which it is, but, in all fairness to Revan, his anger is a bit justified. Check this out:

Yep. She "grew to enjoy Angus' company" after he hired her to make a documentary about his late wife. That's brutal...and in a demented way, also kind of badass for both Tammy and Angus.

That being said, I don't think you can blame Revan for being a bit pissed about the whole situation. I know if my mom were to pass away, and then my dad hired Tara Blume or whoever to make a documentary about her life, and then six months later my dad and Tara Blume were taking trips to California wine country or whatever, I'd be a bit salty, too.

The lawsuit goes into some ultra-personal specifics about one Tammy's and Revan's encounters. It gets pretty dramatic and intense:

Holy shit, I can't wait to see how that scene plays out after Lifetime – or NRA TV – buys the rights to the movie.
