Lost Ogle Show: Rachel Cope w/ Empire Slice House & Gorō Ramen!

We were lucky to have Rachel Cope – the restauranteur behind Empire Slice House, Gorō Ramen and other popular concepts from 84 Hospitality Group – on a recent recording on The Lost Ogle Show presented by Fire Leaf!

Marisa and I talked with Rachel about the rise of Empire Slice House – from its origins to its pizza to the “secret” ingredients in its ambrosial pink sauce recipe – and how 84 Hospitality Group has adapted to a pandemic that’s brought the entire restaurant industry to its knees.

We also discussed why they no longer use food delivery services like Postmates, what it’s like to find out your business is being vandalized during a protest, and officiating beer pong tournaments at Cafe Nova.

Give it a listen!

  1. Empire is REALLY good. Figgy Stardust and Notorious P.I.G. are two of my favorites.

I’ve heard great things about Goro as well. I plan on eating there one day. The name stands out to me, because I always think of the four-armed sub-boss from Mortal Kombat every time I hear about it.
