Daredevil Dirt Biker Flies Into Stands at Lazy E Arena…

9:30 AM EST on January 25, 2021

Before we get started with this post, I should probably clarify that the only thing I know about dirtbikes is what I learned from watching The Dirt Bike Kid a few hundred times on VHS in the mid-1980s. It was one of the few VHS tapes my family-owned – I think we bought it from Video Matinee on SW 59th – and it single-handedly got my brother and through the hot, lazy summer days of 1987.

As a result of this lack of knowledge, I can't really explain how or why a daredevil dirt biker flew into the stands at Lazy E Arena on Saturday night, but maybe you can. Here's the video:

In case you couldn't tell by the disproportionally long, slow-moving logo effects, Guthrie News scored the shaky Zapruder film of the incident. Just like us, News 9 tried to get some easy clicks out of their story. And also just like us, they don't know why the guy took a B-line to the stands.

A bit of chaos broke out at the Lazy-E arena on Saturday when a motorcycle flew off the track and landed in the stands.

According to the Guthrie News Page, at least one person was taken to the hospital with a possible broken hand. It's not clear what caused the rider to lose control of the bike.

Seriously, the dude didn't try to stop or anything. Any ideas, other than maybe his dirtbike becoming magically possessed and trying to knock out the evil town banker who wants to bulldoze the local hot dog stand?
