Lost Ogle Show: Collin Walke & The Oklahoma Data Privacy Protection Act

8:57 AM EST on March 12, 2021

Last night, Marisa and I were happy to welcome Oklahoma State Representative Collin Walke to the digital realm to have our personal data stolen and, in the process, talk about the Oklahoma Data Privacy Protection Act – a new piece of legislation that will make it harder for large, massive corporations to use our online data to manipulate every aspect of our being.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of the episode...

Marisa and I caught up and talked about State Representative Brad Boles's stupid "Colored Babies" comment, and the efforts by State Rep Danny Williams to out to LGBTQ+ Oklahoma students to their parents.

We then welcomed Mr. Walke on the show and talked all about the Oklahoma Data Privacy Protection Act, what it does, and how it will help protect Oklahomans. We also talked about other tech issues, like data ownership and monetization, and the rising risks and dangers of algorithms.

We wrapped things up by talking about the Oklahoma legislature, including some aggressive comments Colin made to a Derplahoman rep on the Oklahoma House Floor.
