By now, you've probably heard about Madison Kohout.
She's the 19-year-old genius who packed up and moved to Arkansas on a whim to be closer to her TikTok mom, only to discover the apartment she moved into was part of a senior living center.
Yep, Oklahoma's finest are at it again.
The story apparently blew up on TikTok, spread to older, more primitive forms of social media like Twitter and Facebook, and has since appeared in just about every mainstream media outlet in the world.
Virtually all these outlets gush over the adorable "Awe shucks! Youngs lives withs Olds" aspect of the story. I can't really blame them. Who hasn't fantasized about living in an apartment complex with a bunch of old people?

When Madison Kohout, 19, moved into her new apartment complex, she didn’t think much of the average age of her neighbors.
After all, she had scored a nice apartment in the northeast Arkansas City of Piggott after moving there from Oklahoma. About a week in her new home, however, Ms. Kohout saw a sign outside the 10-unit complex that she hadn’t noticed before.
“I was looking around at my surroundings to see what there was I could do here, and I saw the sign that said ‘Senior Living Apartments,’ and I realized I moved myself into a retirement community,” Ms. Kohout said in an interview. “Once I saw the sign, all the things clicked. I was like, ‘Oh, my goodness, I can’t believe I did this.’”
Yep, it took this Inspector Clouseau a week and a giant sign to figure out she moved into an apartment complex for old folks. I wonder if she noticed any other clues, like the fact that everyone ate dinner at 4 o'clock?
As I mentioned, Madison moved to Arkansas to be next to her TikTok mom. Check this out:
Ms. Kohout’s arrival at the apartment complex came after a connection she made over the past year through TikTok with Lori Parker of Piggott, who describes herself to her more than 65,000 followers as “a Preacher’s wife, Mom and Nonna.” The two followed each other on the social media platform, and they quickly developed a rapport by commenting back and forth on the videos they shared.
“She just touched my heart,” Ms. Parker said on Sunday. “I felt like I’ve known her for a long time.”
Ms. Kohout had left home at age 17 after a childhood that she said came with “a lot of challenges.” In one TikTok post, she said she grew up supporting herself. After she said in one video that it had been a long time since she celebrated Thanksgiving with family, Ms. Parker invited her to Arkansas. Those plans fell through, but Ms. Kohout later met the Parker family in February.
Naturally, the story about a vulnerable 19-year-old making strange decisions like moving into a senior living facility in an effort to get closer to an adoptive family she met on the Internet raised some eyebrows with...
Wait. I think we're all supposed to ignore that angle on this one. With videos like this, can you really blame us?

Okay. That is kind of funny. Also, what do we have to do to get Madison to have cheeseburgers with Sad Pawpa? I think they'd get along well.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see what Madison does with her newfound Internet fame. Although I think this whole thing could be nothing more than a viral stunt to give her a platform to sell and market her own line of salsas, we wish her the best of luck in Arkansas, and hope she enjoys her stay in the senior living facility. I can't wait to see her TikToks about playing bridge.
