Kingfisher theatre vows to fast-forward through “Lightyear” lesbian kissing scene…

1:13 PM EDT on June 20, 2022

We have some good news for stodgy, intolerant, out-of-touch parents who live in the Kingfisher area... and bad news for their kids who want to see uninterrupted "indoctrinating" footage of two computer-animated women kissing.

Earlier today, The Ogle Mole Network alerted us to a Facebook post from local LGBTQ icon Floyd Martin.

He shared an image of a 'WARNING' sign that Kingfisher's 89er Theatre apparently taped to their front door that vowed to fast forward through a"controversial" same-sex kissing scene in the new Pixar release "Lightyear," and apologized for any inconvenience it may cause.

Update: Floyd's post is no longer public, but here's the image of the "warning" sign...

Wow. What a shameful thing for the 89er Theatre to do! How dare they use something as innocuous as a kiss between two fictional cartoon moms to drive controversy and boost ticket sales! Seriously, is this what it takes to sell movie tickets nowadays?! What's next? Announcing they'll fast-forward through the scene in Snow White where the prince sneaks a kiss without asking for consent?

In other news, is this really a thing now? The answer is a resounding "Yes. We live in 2022. Remember?"

The scene was actually cut from the final draft of the film, but Disney reinstated it during Florida's "Don't Say Gay" ruckus to appease employees who complained the company was censoring “overtly gay affection” in its films.

Showing that you can't please everyone all the time, especially if they're anti-LGBTQ zealots, Disney's decision to include the scene led to the movie being banned in places like Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Indonesia. It also gave more fuel to right-wing flack nuts to throw on their absurd "Disney Groomer" fire. You know, because the goal of the LGBTQ movement isn't to obtain freedom, equality, and acceptance for a group of people who have faced vehement discrimination for eons, but to turn everyone else in the world gay.

Anyway, if you want to see the scene firsthand, I'd suggest putting on your proudest Pride memorabilia and checking it out at 89er Theatre any night at 7:20. I'd also suggest stopping by Eichen's in Okarche for a quick pre-game meal. It's delicious.
