18-year-old nearly killed at State Fair by projectile smart phone…

8:56 AM EDT on September 23, 2022

The Oklahoma State Fair is apparently as dangerous as ever.

According to a report by KFOR, an 18-year-old woman named Rebecca Gillespie suffered a traumatic brain injury at the Oklahoma State Fair this week after being hit in the head by a projectile cell phone that some moron dropped from the top of the Street Fighter 360 ride.

Because we live in a day and age where everything is recorded, KFOR obtained footage of the moment the smartphone dropped from the sky. Check this out:

Before I write anything else, I just want to say that we're sending "get well" wishes Rebecca's way. We hope she makes a full recovery, and at worst, only gains a new scar and a crazy State Fair story to tell her grandkids someday. If she hasn't lawyered up already, she should contact our friends at Cunningham and Mears. They'll sue the hell out of the Oklahoma State Fair, Street Fighter 360 operators, and the person who nearly killed her.

With that being said, what the fair f*ck?!?

As if the actual rickety rides at the State Fair weren't dangerous enough, now you have to watch out for projectiles falling from such rides?! I remember the good old days when all you had to worry about when visiting the State Fair was getting kidnapped, stabbed, or bit by a rabid carnie.

Anyway, I guess this is the last weekend that Oklahoma State Fair is open. If you want to risk your life for an Indian taco or cinnamon roll, don't forget to print our bingo cards, and watch for falling objects.
