Today we go retro, with January 1979 Playboy Playmate of the month (and University of Oklahoma grad) Candy Loving, who led the way for such local heroes as Ashlynn Brooke and Jesse Jane. This is, alas, the only safe for work picture we could find.

Candy Loving wasn’t a porn star, but has a porn star name. Candy Loving was her real name (Loving was her maiden name she was married at the time of her pictorial).
It’s sad that Ponca City has not recognized their most famous celebrity in Candy.
If you look over this town there are statues of it’s famous citizens yet nothing of Candy. You would think if not a whole statue, they would erect a bust of her somewhere… but no…
If I recall, wasn’t she the 25th anniversary Playmate?
Sidenote: At OU that same year I took a photography class with Candy’s younger, quite attractive sister, Cindy. I never missed a class.
She was the 25th Anniversary Playmate. Wasn’t she a Chi-O at OU? Candy’s runner up for the title was Dorothy Stratten who went on to become Playmate of the year in 1980 and was murdered shortly afterwards.
A few months after Candy’s pictorial another girl from Oklahoma was a Playmate, Denise McConnell from Norman.
Her husband was my eighth grade teacher at Kerr Jr. High. Lucky guy…
Wonder if she’s of any relation to OU Mass Com Law prof Bill Loving. Would be a bit of sweet justice for me.

If that picture was taken in 2007, Mrs. Loving has not aged or changed her hairstyle much since I was born.
I don’t think she’s married to the guy she was married to during her Playmate years. The last I heard about her was that she was living in Florida working in the health insurance industry and has a daughter.
I met her at a bar in Norman called the Oklahoma Oil Co.. It was the fall of 1976, a couple of days before classes started. She was a finalist for Ruf-Nek queen the year before. Janet Gibson, Switzer’s former girl friend, was the winner.
Candy was in a Woody Allen film. I think it was a cameo type appearance in Stardust Memories. I haven’t thought about this stuff for years. In her Playmate profile she put something about liking to sleep late on rainy days. http://www.radneyfoster.com “Raining on Sunday”

bill loving is now at idaho state university, i believe. he was a great professor. he was tough, no doubt, but a great teacher.
Her husband’s last name was Prather.
I was fortunate to have taken a class at OU with Ms. Loving. This was back in the fall of 1979. The thing I remember about her is the sheer power of her presence (at least to hetero men). OU professors would literally heel and toe in deference to Ms. Loving. I also loved the way that she graciously, as was her due, tolerated such young smitten men as myself.
Being from PC myself, I agree with E-DUB that there should be a “bust” of her somewhere in town. Maybe right next to ol’ E-DUB himself on 5th & Grand.
I was told that Candy Loving is married to a man by the name of Kleiner, Jeff to be exact. Is that true? And, she lives in Pompano Beach, Florida now.
