From all accounts, it looks like the Sonics (so far) have totally kicked the City of Seattle’s ass in the trial that determines how soon the team can move to Oklahoma City. That’s nice to know, but don’t you think Clay Bennett would be a little bit happier? Seriously, it looks like Clay just had to watch an entire WNBA game or that he was forced to read Clark Matthews Sonics draft plan. Zing!
Anyway, barring Aubrey McClendon giving the Journal Record another exclusive interview, hopefully the judge will rule in the Sonics favor and we will have the NBA in OKC in a few months. Hopefully even mean old Wanda Jo Stapleton will be able to make a game or two.

The betting sites have it running 4 to 1 that the Sonic’s will win the case. Funny, the Sonic’s main economic expert (under oath) agreed with Wanda Jo not the chamber, mayor and pr. Are they lying now or then?
Can’t be both. Citizen activist, Wanda Jo spearheaded the effort in the $450 million dollar rebate that ATT had to give citizens of Oklahoma.
David Glover said, “Citizen activist, Wanda Jo spearheaded the effort in the $450 million dollar rebate that ATT had to give citizens of Oklahoma.”
Spearheaded? I’d love to hear the story of how Wanda Jo took on behemoth SWB/SBC/AT&T all by her lonesome.
Anyone else scared about what David, Wanda and Steve do to each other when they are alone….
I am 99.72345235 percent sure the blurry guy in the foreground is my uncle Jimmy.
This is what happens when you only ready the Daily Worker… er Oklahoman’s… account of the trial.
Chris Casteel was the perfect choice to only give the party line in the local paper… and the FRONT PAGE story with its screaming headline was the icing on the cake.
Look a little deeper into real journalists reports on the trial and you can see that it is very iffy as to whether Baby Huey and his play pals will get to bring their game to OKC.
I will buy the ORIGINAL Lost Ogles a beer at the Cock O’ The Walk if the Sonics or Whatevers are allowed to play at the Ford Center this fall.

he looks kindalike private pyle from full metal jacket in that shot.
Rem. the nba has little economic impact for the host city when you’re trying to weasel out of a lease you pledged to honor at time of purchase, unless you’re promoting a tax payer funded project, in which case the impact will be great up until the ledge exploits the quality jobs act to give kickbacks to the team. Shaq sweat swabber-Shazam! Now that’s a quality job. Smell that Brick, that’s the smell of mendacity.
No cardboard jim, it’s not jealousy of their successful business careers, and it’d sure be cool to have a team, I’m not a hater, but this is all so unsavory. Am I the only Okie troubled that this sloped cranium, the face of Ok to the Pacific NW, perjures himself for the hometown. Now that’s a civic minded fellow- Schultz would fold up like a $ General lawn chair on cross.
With all the facts on the table now, no reasonable person could claim clay made a good faith effort in Seattle, to which clay gave his word- rather a take it or leave it half billion $ gym as the legislative session was winding down, purposely being vague about the teams contributuion for the project, then he conspired to leave town six mos. before the good faith pledge expired. Doubt it’d have made any difference, but he did give his word as a morally sound human being I presume.
Frankly I soured to the deal after learning through the Seattle press, wasn’t covered in the Oklahoman, that Aubrey &co., along with the patron saint of the swift boat liars T-Bone Pickens, funded theses creeps, fearing the loss of their lapdog in the White House. Shame- smearing a combat vet. in supoport of a couple of chickenhawks like ole “other priorioties” vp dick(yeah, like not getting greased in the’Nam), he of 4 deferrments, managing to patriotically keep Lynn impregnated after he lost the education deferrment due to multiple duis. They also helped rock the redneck vote ‘04, funding the proposition to alter our sacred document in the spirit of bigotry.
Doubt Wanda Jo has anything against the nba, fact she thought Chris Paul is kind of cute, just galling in a state ledge filled with govmnt is bad cause they want to take your $ and give it to crack hos anti-gov wackos, who have irresponsibly gutted govermment with those stupid rebates(got $40 here), making sure there isn’t funds to raise teacher pay to the regional ave., as promised, or hire more prison guards, or give state workers a long due cola, or attention to any of the other underfunded critical needs, like bridges that are literally and tragically crumbling throgh the windshields of out of state motoists passing through(now that’s big league), yet when it’s a project the monied and influential are behind, our leaders are quicker than the first hog to the trough at slopping time to get it done.
The coup de gras was the tragic realization they want to name the team Barons after themselves- the graphic artist someone hired, the front page photo shop with the jersey on Durant(they has a good laugh in Seattle on our make believe team), the page one story how fans just love the black and gold!?! huh? Black gold, Texas tea, get it. That requires a jumbo set of huevos. Yes, folks find oilmen so quaint these days. The perfect mascot- a jumbo sized head of the despicable T-Bone Pickens with a patch on one eye and pockets stuffed with stocks from corporations on which he pulled a hostile takeover. Be villionous like the Oakland Raiders. Swear not a hater, just this whole snafu long ago turned the stomach.
Go Thunderbirds! Fighting 45th!
“Rem. the nba has little economic impact for the host city when you’re trying to weasel out of a lease you pledged to honor at time of purchase,” That’s right – Clay’s boy’s are saying that loosing the Sonics will have little impact on Seattle’s economy; entertainmemt dollars will just be shifted elsewhere. Can’t that same arguement be made about the economic impact of an NBA team to OKC, entertainment dollars will just be shifted from existing entertainment venues to Clay’s pockets?
He’ll be my hero if he restores totally nude dancing.
Crimson Edgar said, “along with the patron saint of the swift boat liars T-Bone Pickens”. I believe T. Boone’s offer of one million dollars might still on the table for anyone that can prove what the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth were saying was untruthful in any way. You make the claim, so why not go for the million?
Tony, I would be surprised if the team can make it to the Ford Center this Fall even if they do win the case. If Seattle loses, there is going to be an appeal that is bound to drag it out until after the NBA’s schedule has to be completed. The Sonics best hope is that trial win gets the city to name a price for a buyout, but that seems remote to me
Clark I agree.
Cashion, there have already been a number of Vietnam Veterans who have come forward and proven the Swift Boat people as liars.
Pickens owes them the one million, but he has been uncharacteristically silent about admitting he needs to pay up.
Tony Sellers, it seems “they” need to make better contact with T. Boone if they’re so sure of themselves and their hero John Kerry. It’s not my million dollars on the line.
The Swift Boat liars have been proven to be just that. So not is he a only despicable pos who cared not the pain he caused as long as it made him nasty rich, he also welched on a bet.
The things you guys latch onto and hold as proof for anything amazes me. I can only imagine how you reacted when Dan Rather released the Air Guard documents that were damaging to President Bush. Did you print them out and give them to all your friends, exclaiming “I told you so! Here is the proof! It’s a sure thing now!”? When it took mere hours after the release of those documents to prove they were quite fake, and the story really coming into play the next day, did it break your little heart? Your side isn’t smart enough to properly falsify a few documents, so what *you* hold as “has been proven” doesn’t amount to much. You’d think with as many on your side trying to “get” President Bush, these proofs would get a little more play. Obviously, the VRWC owns you.
Eh…
