Remember when Sally Kern said that gays are worse than terrorists? Well, we might have been jumping to a conclusion when we assumed that was a slam at gays. It might be that she really just thinks terrorists aren’t that bad.
According to our sources at the Capitol, security guards allegedly caught a person trying to “smuggle” a weapon into the building (sounds like something a terrorist would do). The weapon, a handgun, was possessed by none other than Representative Sally Kern. We currently have no information on who her intended target was (our guess? Jim Roth) but Kern was released on her own recognizance.

Whether or not you like Kern or not, (and I don’t) let’s not forget that she did supposedly receive threats during her little dust up. As long as she has committed no crime, and has gone through the proper channels to receive a permit, this really isn’t news.
It is her right to carry a gun, the fact that she chooses not to respect the rights of others points to her own hypocrisy, so let’s stare to deep into that abyss…

any one of us here would have been arrested if we tried to bring a weapon into the state capitol. how can we expect our citizens to obey our laws if we allow the lawmakers themselves to break them. ARREST HER!

No it doesn’t, but do you honestly think that a conceal carry holder is going to get arrested for an arguable oversight? As long she didn’t argue, bully or try to intimidate her way past them I would hope that the guards would offer a little leeway. Lord knows I’m no fan of cops and rent a cops, but she was hardly some loon bent on a killing spree.

seriously flow, even if you are a conceal carry permit holder and you walked into the capitol, you WOULD be arrested. period. even if you admitted that it was an honest mistake and offered to run it back to your car, you would still be placed in county. to think otherwise is naive. this is just another example of how lawmakers (and let’s not forget law enforcement) have no respect for following and carrying out the law when it pertains to them. set an example and LOCK HER UP! : )

I would hope that the police would use some common sense if my wife made that mistake, but I guess you all would agree that she should be LOCKED UP for the sake of consistency.

Flow-according to the Daily OK, someone (a state employee( WAS arrested a couple of years ago for forgetting his gun in his briefcase. He was charged with a crime, had to pay a lawyer and a fine.
