It is spelled C-O-M-M-I-S-S-I-O-N-E-R

The following ad appeared on the back page of yesterday’s Journal Record. It announces that Jim Roth, the guy we interviewed earlier this week, is going to be a columnist for the Oklahoma City business paper.  Check it out:

jim-roth-commissiner

I don’t know about you, but the use of the word “commissiner” in the second to last line makes me wonder if Dana Murphy is now a copywriter for the Journal Record. If so, maybe they can hire Brent Rinehart as a graphic designer. Together they could create some of the greatest ads in the history of Oklahoma City advertising…gauranteed!

p.s- I do know it’s insanely hypocritical for us to point out the typographical mistakes of others, but at least we are a FREE local social blog.  That pretty much gives us a pass. Plus, whenever I’m writing for this site I’m usually at home in my study sipping on whiskey and entertaining European fashion models. And Clark Matthews is usually playing checkers or writing letters to JJ Reddick. We have no clue what The Irritated Tulsan or Chad does while they write, but it’s probably illegal and involves horseshoes.

p.s.2 – Get it?  I spelled “guaranteed” wrong.  Ha ha!

Does Jim’s head appear unusually large or is it just me? Maybe the journal is trying to attract a new type of reader?? ahhh, who doesnt like an unusually large head?

  2. 2 Clark Matthews

You also misspelled Redick. Trust me, I know.

So spelling is in and grammar, punctuation, and general usage rules are out? Come on TLO, we like a little consistency with our hypocrisy…. And his head is RIDICULOUSLY big!

I think the lost story here is the technological advancements in cell phone chargers. Where can I get my desktop wind generator?

Personally, I write while surrounded by a naked harem of hot, young, female English tutors. They keep my usage correct while letting me snort Borax off of their proper little stomachs. The horseshoes are just for good luck!
