Welcome to our newest feature at The Lost Ogle. It’s called the OKC Media Approval Ratings. Basically, each Monday morning we are going to post a brief profile of a representative from our local media. At the end of the post, we are going to ask our readers to vote on whether they approve or disapprove of the job this person does. Sounds easy enough, right?
Anyway, the first lucky media’ite to appear is a Lost Ogle favorite. His name is Dave Morris. Learn a little bit more about Dave and cast your vote of approval or disapproval after the jump.
p.s.- Yes, DeadSpin did something very similar to this about a year ago. And yes, this is a total rip-off of that. Oh well, imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Why Approve: In all honesty, when you compare Dave to all the other people they put in front of the camera at NewsOK.com (recent example 1 & recent example 2), he really doesn’t do too bad of a job. He also has to do things like ride around in a car with Steve Lackmeyer and some hobbit with a camera. The fact that he’s able to do stuff like that and still keep his sanity is commendable.
Why Disapprove: As we’ve pointed out on several occasions, Dave is a bit of a douche bag and has a large ego. I don’t want a guy like that telling me the news or that “smart phones choose NewsOK mobile.” I want him to show me the hottest Affliction shirts to throw up on.

All this time, and I STILL cannot figure out why this guy is still employed at newsok.com – he is such a lightweight. He may be a really nice guy in person (or not) but he just comes across as dull.
Dave Morris is a genuinely good guy, Steve Lackmeyer is one of the best reporters we’ve got in Oklahoma and the Hobbit, assuming this refers to Tanner Herriott, is intimidatingly talented. I voted Approve.
I met Dave at Art on Tap, he was very nice. Stopped to talk for a while and introduced his wife, nice folks. and I’m a nobody!

Seems that TLO may just be jealous of ol’ Mr. Morris, based on their obsession with all things Dave. So he tries to be fashionable…sometimes I wish more Oklahoma guys would get on that wagon.

The pictures are worth thousands of words, but the word that does immediately come to mind is “douche”. He may be a nice guy or whatever, but the first impression is hard to shake.
