Lady bites off woman’s ear in a jealous rage over Remington Park slot winnings…

Berdie Jean Fleming

Whenever I'm looking for a little pick me up, I like to visit Remington Park Racing and Casino in the heart of Oklahoma City's aptly named "Adventure District" (because you know, nothing is more adventurous than a zoo, science museum, and several third tier hall of fames all next to each other).

Maybe it's just me, but inhaling decades worth of second-hand smoke while watching a bunch of sad old folks gamble away their social security and disability checks automatically puts in me in a better mood, and all asthma attacks aside, reminds me of how good I actually have it. Plus, if you're lucky enough, you might win some cash, get to see a quarter horse euthanized on the track, or watch a woman bite off another woman's ear in a jealous rage over $25 in slot machines winnings.

That's what happened over the 4th of July after Berdie Fleming went all Mike Tyson on someone's ear like she saw a putty tat. KOCO.com has all the details:

A woman was arrested on the Fourth of July after police say she almost bit off another woman's ear at Remington Park.

Officers were called to Remington Park around 5:50 p.m. Monday, and they were shown that a woman's ear had been torn from the lower lobe to about halfway up the back side of her ear, according to a police report. The victim's ear was still connected by a small sliver of skin.

She told police that she had been sitting next to her husband at a slot machine when a woman to her right, identified as Berdie Jean Fleming, got up and left her machine, the report said. The victim sat down at the machine the woman had left, and she said the machine did not have a balance on it.

The woman played the machine and won a $25 bonus, causing Fleming, to return and start yelling at the victim, according to the report. The victim's husband told her to ignore Fleming, 56, and she told Fleming to leave.

Fleming then leaned in, grabbed the victim and bit her left ear, the report said.

Remington Park's surveillance footage supported the victim's story.

The victim was treated by the casino's medical staff before being taken to a nearby hospital.

Fleming was arrested on a complaint of maiming and on a city charge of assault and battery. She was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail, and her bond was set at $15,000.

Question? Can Remington Park turn their surveillance footage into a live stream? It seems like a good idea. Then we can all experience the heart racing excitement of Remington Park, and get a little pick me up, without contracting emphysema.
