Paul Blair is a sore loser…

One of the big losers in Tuesday's runoff election was wannabe politician Paul "I Was Never In The KKK" Blair.

Not only did the pro football player turned vending machine owner turned hate-spewing bigoted church minister lose his runoff to political newcomer Adam Pugh by a 55% to 45% margin, but he responded to the defeat by issuing a ridiculous letter via his advocacy group "Reclaiming America For Christ."

Here's one snippet that particularly stood out. Via Non Doc:

In a normal world, you would think that a hometown boy who went on to play professional football, built a three decade successful hometown business and successfully pastored a hometown church for 15 years would be a popular candidate.   When you add to the professional resume a 27 year marriage with no scandals, divorce or DUI’s, plus, being a nationally recognized speaker on the subjects of the Constitution and the founder’s principles of government – you would think that man would be well prepared for office.  Add to that the support of Senator Coburn, Senator Cruz, Congressman Russell, Congressman Bridenstine and host of national Conservative Christian champions, plus the support of local community leaders – you would think that candidate might bring home 90% of the vote in the “reddest state” in the union.  But our world has changed.

I think Paul left off three words at the end of his paragraph. It should be "for the better."

Seriously, we don't praise Edmond to often on this site, but kudos to the 55% of voters who didn't want to give this homophobe a seat at the Capitol. We already have enough theocratic wackos in our legislature to embarrass us. We don't need another.

Anyway, Paul's right about one thing. In an idyllic white "normal world" like Edmond, you would think that a hometown boy who went on to play professional football, built a successful hometown business and successfully pastored a hometown church for 15 years would be a popular candidate. It's too bad Paul Blair is also a homophobic narcissistic extremist who lacks any form of self-awareness or compassion towards people who were not blessed with his 1950s storybook"normal world" upbringing and lifestyle, otherwise he may have had a chance.
