Abby Broyles is running for US Senate…

6:31 PM EST on November 4, 2019

Sometimes you can't make this stuff up.

Abby Broyles –  a KFOR news reporter turned night school law school graduate turned KFOR news reporter – announced today she is running for Jim Inhofe's US Senate in 2020.

Here's a video of her announcement:

Wait. Wrong video. That's the news reporter demo reel Abby just uploaded a few weeks ago. I guess she's a US Senate candidate with a law degree who's currently looking for work as TV news reporter, or something like that.

Here's the video that I think was shot while Abby walked her dog at Lake Hefner:

That's pretty cool. Back when I worked at KFOR, Abby Broyles was always one my favorite co-workers to grab a few longnecks with after work. Yeah, she would talk alot about office politics, her exes and the cinnamon raisin biscuits Joleen Chaney would bring to the fourth Friday potluck – "It's just DIY Hardee's mix!" – but whether she was laughing and crying or singing and dancing, she always had a good story or two to tell about her adventures in the New Mexican desert.

Anyway, I guess we'll follow this story and provide some updates. I would assume the announcement means Abby is leaving KFOR, but you never know. Her bio is still on the site, and having a US Senate candidate cover shootings, sex offenders and apartment fires may provide some interesting interviews, and help ratings.
